Leave him alone for a few days to get used to the new environment.

I've been lucky, the first one i got was very curious and was happy to be handled within a couple of days. Curled up on my lap the day I got him whilst drivin home in the car.

Dont even think about holding it until it has first become an established feeder( after 12-15 positive feeds). When it has, i would hook it out (using a modified wire coat hanger)and place it into your hand and make your movements slow and deliberate.
