Barnabas's feeding album thread!
I think it would be awesome to put up some pics of my diamond python eating his first LARGE rat! And then continuing putting up pics of him eating. I was told by his breeder that he can go to large rats now but I think I may stick with medium cos this one seemed veeerryyy big! Or does it look ok?

^^Just finished feeding, an impressive bulge! oOLast edited by Reptilegal1; 11-Jun-12 at 08:09 PM.

easy as looks a gr8 size, handled it with ease

always good to watch, I feed my BHP a large one every month or so, he is 8ft. in between that he is on medium x 2 or large
-
Perfect size, I would stick with it. Looks like he/she easily handled it

ur snake makes the rat look small :/
Wish list-1 Hypo Bredli, 1 RSP, 4 Albino Darwins, 1 88% jungle jag and maybe (hopefully) one day a Paradox Albino. 1 Sand monitor, 1 Heath monitor, 1 Mangrove monitor, 1 Lace monitor and 1 Perentie.

It was down within 10 min of him putting his mouth over it's face! I'm happy that it's a good size, and what's better is, I found another pet store that is close to me and the rat was $11! I'm NOT complaining seeing as the other 2 pet stores near me charged 28!! I'm STOKED!!!

28 dollars for a rat, jeez thats steep. glad u found somewhere cheaper

Just for a comparison, this is my 7.5ft coastal eating a jumbo rat. He is such a pig. I was giving him 2 XL rats but it works out cheaper to give him one of these. It takes him about 12-14 minutes to get one of these down

Keep in mind mate that my fella is going a jumbo rat which is about 400grams. In saying that, don't stress about your diamond struggling with a large rat. Personally I'd probably go onto XL rats soon so he gets a bit more with each feed. I am going to try ruppert on small rabbits in a couple months.

Just another question, in the 4th pic, why is his neck a bit pink? Iv looked up and seen similar looking pink marks on pythons that had been slightly burnt.., could my python be burnt?? Or does it look normal?

Na that's fine mate. Lots of carpets go pink on the underside when feeding.
