    drinking habits of our snakes

Yes i know that they all drink, but after five years of owning snakes i am still amazed that they all have a drink as soon as fresh water is given , ( it happens daily) the BHP quicker than the stimsons but every time we change or fill the water they go staight in . This makes me wonder if a cooling system is needed for the water ? yes its at the cool end ! , or do they do it out of curiosity . We tried an experiment once and filled the water up every two hours and the BHP still went in for a drink each time .

so? what do you all think?

Some of mine will do that too, think its probably something to do with new scent, movement in the enclosure or curiosity, or a combination of such things

i have a couple of bhp and i have found that they need to know whats going on, they are the only pythons i have that will watch every move i make in the snake room, they have never bitten or gone to so they dont want to eat me lol,
i have also noticed that they have the need to destroy there clean enclosures like trying to burrow under the newspaper to find the huge rat that i didnt give them, and i have noticed they like to have a drink of fresh water but i cant say its because its fresh or cold, or because there just inquisitive

I very rarely catch my stimmie drinking, even straight after I replenish the water. Wish I did because I love watching her drink.

I've caught my boa drinking water exactly two times, from his bowl. I've also never had to change his water because of an "accident". My woma and hognose drink all the time. I've never saw my carpet drink either. I know they are drinking but still bothers me.

My Woma doesn't always go for the fresh water unless he notices it and has curiosity, in fact I've seen it drinking 3 and 4 days later (when we just got back from short break)

I watched my stimmie have a big drink yesterday and thought I had better top up as she is due to shed. I did this and straight away she was out again and had another big drink.
