Need advice
Need advice I’m looking at buying a 4 year pair of Albino Olive Pythons for a lot of money I’m not loaded by far I have to sell lots of stuff to get the capital so do you guys think I’m wasting my money.

Yes..
No..
You could / will make your money back in no time once / if they breed .2 Week Herper .

Well its a personal choice. Do you like that python?
the other thing to... check out some sites such as the herp trader and other breeder sites to see what the general price is to see if you are paying to much.If you need IT advice.. PM me

It doesn't matter what others think Matt. If you like those snakes and are happy to buy them then that is all that matters. Comparing the prices with herp trader can have advantages and disadvantages but if someone is selling them dearer than another, you need to ask the dearer seller why. The snakes could be better quality - proven pair, no blemishes, well looked after and a background of good breeding lines. That's what should create the cost of a snake, not dependent on "the going price". Prices vary with everything - dogs, cars, milk, bread. So can't see why snakes all have to have the same price tag.
If its any consolation, I chose to purchase a pair of jungles from SXR for $1600, rather than buy a cheaper pair from someone else simply because I like and preferred the quality SXR has to offer. So don't just buy cheaper just to save a few bucks. Find what it is you want and take it, without having to answer to anybody else.Kathy

I'm just curious if have you ever bred or kept normal olives?

i would have to say yes if you have not kept or bred this species before, have you bred much before??
if you have good experiance in the breeding process then i say go nuts if you can afford it then do so as you will make alot of money back down the track
definatly a sound investment if you know what your doing, not the best if you dont
btw have you ever kept a large python breed before, as olives of that size can be abit touchey would hate to see your $$$$ down the drain from an accident

I quite agree with what snakecharma has said here. Whether or not its a waste of money really depends on whether you can afford to lose them if something goes wrong. Olive pythons are a challenging breed and are eating machines.

If you are experienced, dealt with the species before and know how to look after them properly well go for it.
I personally wouldn't spend that sort of money even if it was given to me as I feel that I wouldn't be experienced enough. But that is me.

olives are a beautiful snake ours has certainly won our heart over and a pair of albino olives would be so beautiful. we neally worship them but i do believe it is up to you like others have said you will make the money back on babys when they breed but you've goots think is it worth loosing what you are going to sell off for them i know i could never let any of my animals go an i have a lot of wacky animals i have a pure viscous childrens python and a gay bellimic cat but they all have place in my heart and i wouldn't let any got to better my collection. but as i said personal preference you may not even be talking about selling any of your babys but they are all i got
2 cats 1 diamond 1 olive 1 coastal 2 darwin 1 childreni 1 tully jungle 1 port mac 1 hypo coastal 2 rough scaled 2 bearded dragons 2 blue tongue 1 black and gold jungle 2 spotteds 8 guinea pigs 1 budgie

If your doing it for the money, yes, there is a very good chance you will be wasting your money
If your doing it for the love of Olive Pythons, and would really love to downsize your collection anyway, No, go for it, you'll have no regrets.Herps.... an itch that just never goes....
