    Slight kink/hard lump in tail

    My diamond python 'barnabas' has had a hard little lump in his tail since I first got him
    It's about 3cm from the base of his tail, and it feels like a hard small piece of bone. It's only small and his tail where the lump is shows an ever so slight kink. Is it something to worry about?

    he could be constipated ? put him in a warm bath and softly rub the section

    This lump is a few centermeters below the vent, how can I compare it.. Umm... It's about the size and feel of a small dried corn kernel..

    You might be better to post pics if you can,but also consult a vet...

    if it is after his clouca (spelling) and it kinda looks like a kink in the bone then it could be similar to what my male woma has , hes had it since he hatched according to snake ranch and they told me it is just a minor birth defect , it doesn't affect him in anyway so they told me not to worry , he even recently started to tail wiggle at feed time so it appears to be working fine

    looks exactly like what my boys got its only on the last cm of his tail , i know what you mean about the bump 2

    probably trauma to the spine and the lump is fibrosis of the area when it healed.

    It looks like it has suffered some damage at some stage (even in the egg)? Unless the snake seems ill or in pain from it, I would keep a keen eye on it. If he is eating, growing, sheding, and getting about fine I would just see how he goes. If he were to deteriorate in any way, or the lump get bigger.... I would get a vet to take a look.

    Ok then, I'm a bit relieved! It doest bother him at all! He doesn't like it when I feel it, though he doesn't like it when I feel any part of his tail! Lol
    I will keep an eye on it though
