SNAKE LOST

I have read about this so often. and i thought it wouldnt happen to me. i went to check my two Jungle pythons today and they were both gone. seems i must have left the lid 1cm open and they pushed through it. they were both 2.5 years old and i was breeding them this season..

PLEASE WHAT CAN I DO TO TRY FIND THEM.
they are in the garage and i think they will be curled behind the fridge or hoping they will be..
WHAT ARE THE TRICKS AND TIPS..

If they are good feeders setting a trap for them is a good idea. Get a cage that they could get into and put a rat or mouse inside that can't get out. Put the trap in a nice secure dark place and check on it every couple of hours or each day.

Another one that worked for me although might be frowned upon by others is to tie a piece of cotton to a fresh killed mouse or rat (what ever they eat) and leave it somewhere you think they might turn up. This one needs to be checked hourly, even if you don't find your snake on the other end the direction of the string tells you which direction it was going. also you can put talcom powder etc. along the floor of your shed and look for track marks.

And because jugles are very abboreal, check up in high places, like the corners of your shed rafters etc.

Apart from that just pull your shed apart looking for them. Good luck

I have a juvie MD still missing....I'm sure he'll turn up sooner or later...

I've stopped looking now and just hopes he turns up...some don't turn up for months even a year later....

thanks guys..
its in a garage with not much for them to climb.
and no where really to get out if i keep the doors closed.
but there is alot of boxes etc in there.
so i am going to be spending the next couple of days pulling everything out and looking...
im pretty ****** at myself..
the first year i have attempted to breed them and they dissapear..

If you've got boxes and stuff in there, the chances are that's where they will be. Check everything, but be careful when moving the boxes that they don't get squashed either under them or inside them. If your shed has a steel frame, it may be "C" section steel, and I have had a carpet get into the frame once, because it is open at the back where the sheeting is fixed. I went down there at night with a torch and saw him hanging out in ambush position, carefully blocked off the channel at each end of where he was with rags, and then unscrewed the sheeting from outside and got the bugger... Probably won't have gone too far at this time of year.

Had my female jungle vanish 12 months ago but her cage was on the verandah. I still walk around checking the rafters and trees but nothing yet, found a few maccies though. Hope you have much better luck than I did.

Seems like its the season for snake losing.

If our snake got out in this house- it wouldn't last long I don't think...not until she's bigger anyway....with three cats roaming- its not likely at all she would survive too long.

Good Luck in finding them. Haven't lost an MD python yet. We have two, and they are still in their enclosure. Moving round heaps, one eating(Male), female "Emdee" is still making up her mind re the eating thing. Cheers Cheryl

mate if they are in the garage, definitely, and can't get through a window etc pull everything out of the way of the walls etc and grab your torch and start looking. look along the walls and shelves and behind stuff. look in boxes. seriously. so many people seem to have found their snakes thru tricks like walking round at night with a torch if you google it. make sure you keep the door shut, otherwise i guarantee you will go mad with wondering where they are!! get to it man. the sooner you are on their case, the better i reckon!!
