A formal Hi

Hi....I posted my first post on the Olive python post but thought I'd say a more formal HI. I'm a dog handler in the airforce and I'm based in Tindal, NT. The good thing about that is I get to see alot of snakes I've only just got my first snake, a childrens called Bob, but I'm being posted to Darwin and I'm looking at a olive when I get settled, oh and a girl friend for Bob.

I have a good mate down the road that is a sub contract snake catcher for the base area. He's the one that got me into snakes (much to the wife's disgust ) and (luckly for me) is my brains trust when it comes to snakey things. Anyway here is some pics of Bob.

Hurrah for newbs

GARTHNFAY: In my experience training them is easier than stopping them from continually backing up on you and leaning into you whenever they get close enough.

With a lot of patience!

No I'm not an ADG, but my snake catching mate up the road is But even us doggies take the micky out of them

Some wild snakes for you. These are caught as the result of call outs in the married quarter area or on base when we have visitors like the US Marines. The yanks get a bit scared and sometimes rum over some big Olives. One big one surived a medium bus rolling over it. They are relocated to a safer area. The brown was found under a bar fridge. The olive was in a house. The occupents had just moved in and the snake had knocked over some CD's waking up the people. They got a nice welcome to the NT that night

There are some more pics in my post on the Olive python topic.
