Yes. How dare he kill and eat something to sustain himself. How selfish and rude. No other people ever do that. You eat steak? How would you like a pin through your brain and your throat slit? You wouldn't. But it happens.

As for the illegality, he said in a 'survival situation' the law states you can kill and eat to survive. His show is all about being in a 'survival situation' which leads me to believe that he probably was allowed to

I've watched a couple of his man v"s wild episodes where he makes his customary rafts..Does he make one for the crew, or is there a boat convieniantly stashed at the pre selected point on the map?

Yeah in areas like the Kimberely's only indigenous people are allowed to hunt and kill. Fishing is still OK for anyone in Kakadu though.. weirdly.. The only exception to the rule, ravensgait, is if you're stranded and you're in a survival situation.

Blindsnake, yes, the crew have food and gear and stuff provided. After all, the show isn't what to do when your camera crew is stranded. They're only there to film HIM

are you people for real? or just stupid? the show is about survival, and it could save your life one day knowing what to if you are stranded somewhere - no point in just telling people how to survive! And yeah, don't like the fact that he's eating a snake, but hey, if you are in that situation you would do anything to survive, and if it means sacrificing one to make a point then so be it... after all most of you eat cows for no reason and yet can justify it, so whats the difference?

I would take the word and reputation of a British SAS and ex foreign leigoner over any of yours - because lets face it, he DOES know what he is talking about.

Obviously he's not in a real survival situation seeing as it's for TV, but the show simulates one. I doubt very much that if he wasn't allowed to kill an olive, he'd do it and put it on television. I think he's great and often watch the show and am amazed at how good he is at making shelters, lighting fires, hunting for his food etc etc. Really very primeval hahaha

As for crocs, that pool was about half a metre deep and crystal clear and flowing very quickly. I'm almost certain a croc capable of injury would be plainly visible.

its a good show, i watch it...and its interesting. its a show designed to show you what you can do in certain circumstance....not a show about a man ACUALLY stranded (thus the remarks about camera men and all the other crap are void).

i dont see why everyone is getting so angry about a tv show like this one, where there is so many more things you could channel your dislikes to that would actually perhaps make a difference in a time where we need a change so desperately.

its just a show, and its a cool one that educates people, after all these situations happen to hikers and world travelers all the time!

now how about getting wrilled up about poachers? now theres something to get angry about!

Ha Ha...the narrow sightedness of people lol, its a survival show, IMITATING how you might go about surviving if stranded in the wild, the majority of this nation lives in cities and don't really get out into the bush much, probably more likely to get lost and need to recall shows like this for survival...rare but still probable, .
the holiday show Getaway on channel 9 had a guy eat an olive...or was it a water...I can't remember, it was on a couple months ago, but all the same people can actually go out and pay to go tracking with indigenous locals and eat crocs snakes, etc.
my 2 cents, I’d add more but the flame suit is in the wash

I'm with Aboriginal people all the time and watching them kill things without guns is quite a barbaric, and it does not always work the first or second time but thats the way they have done it for ever. I do recall watching that pommy guy on tv and im not sure if he had a knife or not. If he did he should of used it. But it was a survival show
