RE: Adder

Interesting why people want venomous snakes. I have never been into them personally and have no immediate plans to get into it, but please explain to me, if at all possible, what is the fascination of having a venomous snake that can cause serious damage. I am not having a go, just curious. Thanks,

RE: Adder

Each to their own. I agree. A great looking snake, don't get me wrong. Just something I wouldn't keep personally. I will stick to pythons. Good luck all the same.

RE: Adder

I personally, have elapids as my favourites. Not sure why, probably because I've was catching them as early as 10. Swamp snakes, whips, Golden crowns and my fave, the red belly Black. I think it is also the appearance of them, my faveorite python is the black headed python which almost look venomous. Am looking into getting a colletts as soon as I make my cage banks.
Great looking adder, I plan to get some soon. I saw in cairns, 3 hatchlings that had the same markings as a BHP, but instead of a glossy sheen, they were pastelly. Quite interesting.

RE: Adder

Some people are into nice looking cars too. They are far more dangerous than any snake. Horses kill more people every year in Australia than snakes do - Why would anyone want to keep deadly horses ???

RE: Adder

Well said Westi. I do not keep elapids, but if some people like them and have right aproach to it, why not.
