i kept them (the regular black ones) back in the late 80's and early nineties and didn't know anyone still kept them, let alone bred them!! |

I have not seen anyone breeding them for ages, but i doubt they would be worth much if someone did!!! |

really common in some rocky areas where you can find many under rocks and logs in a small area... i once found three curled up under one small sandstone exfoliation...
i have seen them over 70cm but most are smaller...
from memory there has been a fatality from a bite, but don't quote me on that, they are an inoffensive species that become quite comfortable in being handled...
a pain to keep as they seem to only eat lizards, i never got mine onto pink mice, though they did switch from coppertail skinks to the more easily sourced garden skinks... |

| | | | mrboajangles, thats what i thought when i found it. figured it was some type of blind snake but had a closer look and realised it wasnt, lol.
As Jack mentioned, i think there has been a fatality, and even though they are small, they are still something to be careful around. the coppertails are the main species of skink that we find up here so i guess that does make up the majority of there diet.
thanks, ian |

| Good on you reptyle. If I was in the same position, I think I would have found it very hard to release that specimen what an awesome find. | | | |
