Albino olive on herp trader.

Any suggestions why the 6 month albino olive advertised on the herp trader hasn't sold?
Is the seller asking too much? Or doesn't anyone have any money?

I know if I had the cash I would snap it up real quick.

RE: Albino olive on herp trader.

Ditto that - I think that she's beautiful *sigh*
I guess that the people who DO have the money don't think that she's worth it?? Does anyone know how much the hatchies go for? (Maybe she is over priced in comparison to something just a few months younger )

They are just about non-existent in the pet trade ATM so sellers can generally ask what they want. But most of the people who can afford them either know people who have them and can get them cheaper or would prefer to buy hets and start their own breeding project. The other problem with buying young olives, if you are planning on breeding them, is that they take nearly five years before you can breed them safely. As young olives are prone to being egg bound and it takes along time to get a return on your investment.

I think hatchies go for somewhere around the $12'000 mark, usually being sold/traded in pairs for around $24'000.

Hmmmm....I still don't understand why no one has snapped up that 6 month old olive then, it must be worth it in 5 years time when it is throwing out albino hatchies....well if they had another het albino anyway......

I will keep saving I guess.

I assume the prices would drop when there are more about also.

The olives will hold their value for atleast another ten years i think, just because they have small clutches and really do take that long to get breeding.

Something about a completely white snake that just does it for me!

I can't think of any other albino's that are completely white, I think the coastal leucies that some of the yanks and europeans are hatching out are plain white, but they have never made it past the neonatal stage. I would love an albino pilbara olive! Imagine a completely white 6m long 50-60kg snake! Oh yeah that's where it's at!!!!!!!!!
