When you consider yearling Gtp's lately have been sold for nearly the same amount, and they are relatively common compared to the white Olives, than its not a bad price for an investment species.
As for previous interest, there has been heaps but most people were scared off by the huge price that was sought for them. A few have been sold at the much higher price that was origionaly sought. |

| No interest? This is not the first post on this site about these pythons and I have seen them discussed on other sites as well.

Then there is the old saying..."You have to spend money to make money." For some people $25 grand does not seem as much as it might to you or me.

The market is not that big in Australia. There were plenty of bites from Germany and other places export was out of the question.
If you do the maths based on getting them to breed with an initial clutch of say 10 hatchings in three years time and even assuming that the asking price drops I think you would see an adequate return on your investment soon after. If not in the first year then soon after.
These guys seem quite hardy in captivity and that would be the main risk.

Iwould much rather spend 5k on an albino Darwin tho as they aren't just white but white and bright high yellow, easier to breed etc...and greens are going for anywhere from 5-10k plus depending on age and sex.I saw a few different greens last week and one was an absolute stunner which i could see myself investing in,they've always been a green carpet to me but this particular one i saw was hot ho hot..
Having said that a 9 ft white scoob looking snake would be kinda cool wouldn't it!!!

The thing that sets the abino olive's apart is that they are completely patternless. Other species that have pattern with other than malanin (sp??), such as the darwin's and the burms you see overseas, are patterned it is only the melanin that is missing from their pigment.
