The issue isnt " i would never buy them for $25000" the fact is that if the survive and breed, you are one of very very very few people who can produce albino olives.... so even if you decide the albino offspring are worth say $5000, which in my opinion would sell like hot cakes, all you need is 10 babies to make your investment back, then the potential to make almost a full time income off the breeding pair for many many years untill and real competition comes into it.

The $25000 does not in any way nessisarely represent the monetry value of the actual snakes... its the fact that your buying into almost a business that has the potential to make you above 100% return each breeding year.

If you like a certian breed of dog, and want one, you dont go buy a $2000 stud animal do you? you go buy a run of the mill specimen. These albino olives are a very rare stud animal... not a pet, and are therefor being sold for potential "stud" value and are priced accordingly

so at the end of the day saying "i dont think they are worth $25000" is pretty closed minded... they only have to be actually worth $5000 or even less, and the person who bought that pair will still be making a killing.

Sure Craig23, but how many babies have been produced?
They have been bred for what... 6 or 7 years now?
How many hets are out there, and how many albino babies now?
Also, you are looking at 3-6 years before they will be large enough to breed if they are babies.
How many will there be by then?
Will you be able to get $5000 each?
Will you even be able to sell them in 7 years time?

Hi Craig, The pair that sold on the HerpTrader were advertised at $25,000 for the pair, not for one.

Cheers, Judy
