and it has started...........

Well there is one way to make the other half happy - get her, her own snake.

A 12 month old spotted python. A little easier to handle than the olive.

This could be the start of something big! Watch out.

At this stage we are looking for a quality Male olive to breed with our girl next year - if anyone hears of anything can you let us know.

Oh our olive is much easier to handle now, thanks for all the tips - they seemed to have done the trick. She is no longer striking and we can actually pick her up. She has the run of the lounge room most nights.

hear are some new pics...

it does become a bit of an obsession real quick i have found. came accross a good breeder the other day and that is where the spotted came from and have put my order in for two of their diamonds next year the parents are superb colouring.
have no new pics of the olive at the moment but will get some in the next few days.

RE: and it has started...........

Congratulations on catching the bug, my bank balance is smaller, sold my previous house because of the lack of room for cages and now look at having to build a big reptile house. I met my partner 7 years ago and my mum did the usual embarrassing thing with the photos. When she pulled one out of a 10ft carpet we had for awhile, after being run over by a motorbike, he got really excited, then asked me if I would mind him getting some reptiles. I got my license 18 months later and we got our first snake, an adult male spotted. He was great, so gentle and easy to handle. Next we ventured into a pair of beardeds. Five years on and our collection now numbers over 50 animals and have just got my specialist license. That was it, the carpets have to go to make room for the vens we now want. I know I will have to get rid of some more but can't decide what goes next...the beardeds, the major skinks, the frilly, the spotteds, the bhp's? No, I just can't do it, I need that shed, he needs a better paying job and possibly more than the 3 acres we're on now. Thought about trading in my man, hahaha, but then who would make the cages?

Enjoy many long years of a growing collection. Whoever said it was a hobby has never had herps. It's a passion, an obsession, an addiction!
