Antaresia Weights

Heya, just wondering for the purposes of interest, how much everyone's antaresia hatchlings weigh now?
My Stimmies were born in January and weigh
S1: 48g and is about 40cm (too bitey to measure)
S2: 56g and is 43cm long
Currently being fed 4-8g mice every week or so.

I use digital kitchen scales but any will do the job. Mine are sunbeam scales $60 from retra vision that go to 5kg.

I used to have 10 clear plastic tubes of 10mm-60mm diameter that I used as restraining tubes to hold the head of the snake while I probed it.I also used these to measure my snakes by marking the outside of the tube with a texta then measuring it.Id simply place the snake in a bucket of water and hold the tube above the snakes head.It would then crawl inside the tube to escape the water (this is when I probed or measured). However the lengths I had were only 3 foot in length so anything over that size was measured against a wall.

Hey Fangster, that sounds like a good growth rate for Maccies, what are they eating now ? And what were they eating when about half their size?

Hi MrAfricaFishMan,
Ok The last feed they had was one small adult mouse each.Prior to that they were having two rat pups about 10 grams each. They are fed weekly and shed on average about every four weeks growing by about 80 mm with each shed.
At about half there age they were eating 2 pinkie mice per week.

cheers M.....

The way I measure my Mac is that I know his enclosure is 60cm X60cm.
Simply look for your snake when they are moving around the enclosure and make an estimation based on the lenght and width of the cage.Is is not very accurate but it makes a very good approximation.
Its easy for me at teh movment because when my snake it straight against one of the sides he is exactly the lenght of the enclosure so he is exactly 60cm. easy
