|  | Regular Member | Join Date: Jul-06 Location: brisbane Age: 28 | | | i have just finished making a enclousure for my first python i am looking at a stimpsons. can someone please tell me do i need to cover the light to avoid burning. also what temp should the tank get to ive wired it all up through a thermostat and directly under the light it gets to about 35 and at the far end your looking at 25ish do i need more heat?? sorry the tank is 500mm wide 1100 long and 400 high. any advice would be welcome

Those temps sound good just keep an eye on them as the climate/room temp changes and change the wattage of the bulb if required. |

Also cover light and drop the temps a few degrees.

Get a bigger tub in a year and then let him out in a couple of years time. Mind you, tubs are better on heat mats so they can get a gradient.
