Hey Adam
Thanks for a bit of the inside story it makes us all more aware of what peace means
My Dad was in the Army although he never left Australia that was as close to a soldier that I ever got.
While most of us had a holiday yesterday and probably spent it cleaning our animals or relaxing or doing other stuff - most of us did spare a thought as to the sacrifices you guys and all the others before you had endured so that we can do just that - enjoy the good life in Australia. Thanks heaps guys Australia sends all the love possible for your safe return home soon.
Cheers
Sandee

Thanks all, Sandee I will be sure to catch up when I am back,
I am glad some of you got to have a day with your herps.I miss mine.
It is pretty full on over here though I am sad to say it won't be over when we leave. But we have done alot of good work and believe me the people of Southern Iraq know an Australian Flag both the good guys and the bad ones.
I feel for the people who have to live here who just want to make a go of it in life.To see the look in their eyes you can see they fear for their kids and their future.
And for all the cowards who want to ruin it well they would rather lob rockets over the walls at us at night and lay roadside bombs to ambush us as they know that if they see an Australian flag and want to have a fight they will always come off second best.
ANZAC spirit is alive and well here in Southern Iraq.
Need some more beers though-six months on the dry is a bit rough LOL
2 cans Xmas 2 cans Australia day and 2 cans ANZAC day = I need a coldie LOL
Adam

Adam, I salute you. You are one of our many heros that are all too often forgotten. Both my husband and I had our family members fall at Gallipoli and Kokoda, so as you can imagine, ANZAC Day means so much to both of us. Thank you for not only taking the time to visit with us on this forum today, but THANK YOU, and all our other soldiers over there, for putting your life in the firing line for us. I will think of you all once again as I lay my head on a pillow tonight, and say a prayer for your safe return.

LEST WE FORGET

Nic.
