Saw a bright green/yellowy (lime?)coloured Coastal with the usual dark bits out bush the other day and thought what a pretty coastal. Ive looked on line but havent seen anybody with one......are they common as muck in private collections or rare? No it wasnt a chondro definetly a Coastal.

definitely one you should have gotten a photo of.. I've seen New Guinea Carpets with a greenish background color and pictures of a couple of Coastal crosses?/ (owners were not surer if they were Xs or not) with a greenish back ground color .
Here's a photo of two of my NG's(they were put together for the photo) bit far away to be one of these guys I'll see if I can find those pics of the crosses |

pretty common, just like dozens and dozens of other coastal forms, they come in almost every colour and pattern you can think of, their variation seems endless, even in the same area.

I agree with true blue. Here's a few coastals that have all been photographed at my house, all local wild snakes. I have probably another 15 pics of different coastals that have all passed through our place over the last 10 years. That's why I don't keep coastals, I've got top ones here and don't have to clean their cages.

It cracks me up that people scoff when strange colour combinations/morphs pop up (without the proof of photos). I have seen some of the most amazing offspring come from some ordinary carpets in Branxton NSW. I'm pretty sure the breeder has ceased his operations now worst luck. They were some truly amazing snakes that could have commanded a serious price (albeit carpets). Black and dark brown on different yellows and greens, flouro or iridescent colours that one would think not possible in a common coastal carpet. Yes pics would be great, just because there are none doesn't mean that they dont exist. You are lucky so lucky Earthling to see them in the wild, I wish it was me (should that be I?). I love my snakes (collection) but I would love it so much more to be able to see our pythons in the wild on a regular basis. It's funny though how things work, a colleague of mine recently holidayed in QLD and took some photos of a rather large carpet coiled (resting) whilst he was on a walk, these things never happen to me. I could nearly guarantee that I could go to Fog Dam or Guam or anywhere renowned for dense snake populations and i wouldn't see a thing. I will endeavour to obtain his photos and attach, they aren't very exiting but they are still phots of snakes in their natural habitat.
