But with the high variability of the species, it is very hard to determin a locality just from the looks of an animal.
I am sure some will be happy to label it something specific, but unless you already know it's origins, you can never be completely sure of it's locality.
I would just say it's a nice Jungle python! |

| | | | He looks bigger in the photo, he is just under the 2m mark. He is very mellow so i tend to lean towards the atherton as well it would also explane the price that i got him for as well, I paid 350 for him a year ago, its all fine with me my encloser is big enough to cope with a 8-9 foot snake.

| | | | he has shed 5 times in the last 10 months is that high or normal? |

The reason he sheds frequently still is most likely from the food he is getting, causing him to grow, hence shed more often.
Palmerstons don't usually grow to the 6ft mark, they are more in the 4 or 5 ft size. Of course there are always exceptions from the rule. |

I saw a Babinda animal quite similar that was a huge jungle around 6 foot but from being fed too much it suffered the price dying from fatty liver disease. It's ok to feed them up when young and growing fast but slow it down as they get to adulthood.

| | | | So for a 4 1/2 year old snake i should be feeding him less than every 3 weeks, in the photos he has just shed and ate 3 days before. |
