this is probably a dumb question, but do snakes shed their skin when they lose wait? my coastal injured her mouth a few weeks ago and ive had to starve her for a while til it heals, and ive noticed that shes gotten quiet and darkened up.

Snakes often shed more when injured, it's part of the healing process.
a full-grown snake will still she several times a year.

Even a snake that loses weight is still growing. It's probably just time for your snake to shed, regardless of whether or not it has lost weight.
