I would suggest purchasing from a breeder as opposed to a pet store.

It's up to you as to whether you prefer to buy locally, or are willing to purchase interstate and have your snake freighted to you. Either way, make sure you do your research first and buy from someone reputable

Hey, I live near the hyperdome and know of a few good places... Of course breeders are better, cheaper and have awesome advice (most of the time) What sort of snake are you looking for first? Then people can point you in a better direction

Yes, reptile32, there are some good ones.. Maybe just not where MissB is? Petcity in brissy is good. They have specialised staff advising on the reptiles (they own reptiles themselves). The prices are the catch sometimes when it comes to petshops. It's all a personal choice isn't it?

Mate I would just hook up with a breeder from this site. That way you have more to choose from and can pick what is best for you rather than choose from a couple at a pet store.
You might just get a good bargain to
Good luck

Yes ... they buy them from breeders and then charge twice as much

Not to mention a lot of them give out incorrect info, and try to con newbies into purchasing all manner of fancy items that are probably totally unneccessary.

There are a few pet stores in the Brisbane area that sell reptiles, however, I would personally prefer to purchase from a reputable breeder. There may be some good pet stores that really look after their reptiles and give out great info ... but ... how is a new keeper supposed to differentiate between a good pet store and a bad pet store?
