best reptile bible

hey all.
was just wondering as a fairly new reptile addict i feel i need a realy good reptile reference book.
has anyone got bible that has never failed. and actually has descent info???
by reptiles i mean, snakes gekoes, skinks, monitors, pythons etc etc.
if i'm gonna get one i was a realy good one!
any ideas would be gr8

"Cogger" is still synonymous with "Bible". Unless you're willing to spend big dollars, it's difficult to get hold of one now and your best bet is Wilson and Swan's book. If you're as keen as many of us were as teenagers, you'll probably get hold of Cogger's Bible and compulsively read it cover to cover so many times you'll virtually have the thing memorised

lol yeh thats the plan... the cogger sounds good. so you rekon this is the best one out there.

i'm after the reference book. not realy a captive info one. thers heaps of info out there on how to look after them such as this forum, i was just after a a book i can use to look species up, with pictures and distribution, growth, etc etc. that kind of thing

It's often better just to ask experianced people like on this forum. It often causes some arguements but if you sort through the **** there is some good info on here

i dont have one i just talk to other breeders but i do have a lot of good books too..........but no bible.

just found out my dad has reptiles and amphibians of australia by HG cogger!!! pays when hes a sientist lol. its still good to know these though. i think it would be just so handy to have a realy good reference book.
