Ok i saw what i thought was ovulation in my bredli on the 27/10, she blew up like a baloon in her mid section for around 12-24 hours then it slowly moved dowm her body and she stopped being as fat. It is now the 07/11 and she has just started the first phase of her shed cycle. So if i did see ovulation it was 12 days ago, she is now in blue so i would give her about 10 to 14 days to shed. If this is her prelay shed and she lays approx 25>30 days after that means she will be gravid for approximately 47>55 days.
Is this long enough for her to be gravid? I'm thinking not and now doubting that she is gravid. I mean she is quite fat atm but she is a big girl most of the time
Here's pics of what i thought was ovulation (not new ones have posted before)
And this is her today. Not the best pic, i didn't want to disturb her too much and i have grease all over my hands. But if you look at her lower half you can see that she is reasonably fat.
Anyway i would love some advice on this one. Thanks folks.

I don't really want to poke and prod her, mainly cause i don't want to stress her out but also for the possible damage i could do to the eggs (if there are any). Does anyone know the average time from ovulation to laying in carpets? specifically bredli?
i'm not so much worried about it, more perplexed and a little peeved that i have worked so hard for sooo long to finally think i might be getting somewhere only for it to fall flat on it's face lol I mean ther isn't alot that can be done now if she is not gravid. Just trying to get opinions on wether i should be keeping my hopes up or if i should go and cry in the corner of my bedroom about why life is sooo hard and why things never go my way lol .

maybe she just really needed a shed.....? there still might be a pre lay shed to come if this one doesnt fit into the time line.
keeping carpet pythons book says mating occurs august thru september, cluch size of 10 - 25 deposited late october thru december. (bredli specific)
generally it just says: most will lay 28 - 35 days after sloughing. also says u can gently feel her body for a solid thickening.
good luck! |

One of my bredli girls had her pre-lay 23 days post ovulation. She is due to lay in about 2 weeks, around 51 days after ovulating. Just let nature take its course.
Cheers

Mine went about 30 days from ovulation to shedding, then I'm expecting another 30 or so to eggs.

i know wat u mean about the books. mating doesnt necessarily mean she wasnt already gravid, she may just still be a little frisky plus, she can hold the sperm in her for as long as she likes b4 using it
good luck
