Bredli's help

Hey guys...I first joined this forum in search of information on USA breeders and the basic care of Woma Pythons back in May. After making a lot of great friends here and everyone completly talking me into making the purchase, I noticed that the money spent on her was WELL worth it.

NOW I have another interest. As most of you know I have several Carpet Pythons and I'm no newbie to the gang, but I am now interested in Bredli's. There isn't that much information on them here in the states as the species are just now being introduced.

What I wanted to know was about them from the people that own them.

What temps do you keep them at? (prefer in F but I can convert if needed... )
What humidity levels do you keep?
How big do they get on average? (Do you know the grams-feet?)
How are their temperaments?
Easy to breed?
How big of a enclosure would you need for a full grown?
Do they get along well if I were to house a pair of them together until about a year of age?
Do they switch from mice to rats easily?

Any other words of advice or other information will be appreciated! Thanks guys!!

Here are pictures of the pair that I'm going to be picking up in a couple weeks

And the pair that made them

I keep my bredli at 32deg hot end, 25 cool end, 0 humidity. As for temperament, mine is a darlingStill a youngen, but hasn't bitten so far. They average around 6-8ft I think... so a 4x2x2 enclosure would suit. Not too sure about the other questions, hopefully someone else will help you out thereCongrats on getting the new bredli, they're gorgeous. You'll love them

Thanks Missy...That sounds all exactly what I'm keeping my other Carpet Pythons at. Only I mist the Jungles and my Coastal Daily, so they hold at least at 32 % humidity. Is that too much? They have been shedding perfectly and are very healthy and active.

Bredli is definitely something that i want in my collection??

hey firefly, i have a couple of bredli.
im still newish to keeping but my female bredli was my first reptile. she and the male have been completely trouble free in every way. will eat ANYTHING ANYTIME.
i agree with missy re temps.
i dont worry about humidity, i never measure it and never mist them either and not had a single shedding issue.
the temperaments are great, neither have ever bitten me and the female is a very relaxed handler. the male i bought as an adult and he hadn't been handled much, so is a little nervous but hasn't even looked like biting.
my male is at least 7ft and i have him in a 5X2X2 enclosure, personally i would like to provide him with a little more height.
i havn't bred them yet (female still too young) so cant help u there.
i dont know about housing them together, i have never done this.

all i can say is good luck, you should find them stress free and hardy snakes.

Bredli where my first python species. They are very easy to keep, pretty much the same as other carpets but yea no humidity. I find that they are generally quite snappy as hatchlings but will almost always grow out of it. They are hungry little buggers and will rarely give up the oportunity for food. The pair i have atm have never turned down an offer.

Thanks guys! The pair that I'm getting have accepted FT mice at least 4 times. So they're feeding well. I'm excited to pick them up!!

Thanks for all the useful information. Do any of you have pictures of the enclosures you have set up for your bredli?

Australian people seem to be fond of the carpet substrate?
I have never seen that used here, how does it suit you?

I will be using a Eco-Earth substrate. Its in all my other enclosures and has worked wonderfully thus far.

Bredli84, your Bredli looks beautiful!!

Here's one of my bredli cages, it's 4' x 2' x 2'. They are normally housed separately and are only together now as it is breeding season. The divider does not come all the way to the glass, so they can move freely from one side to the other.

They are very food conscious, so i wouldn't house them together as it could end in tragic circumstances - 1 less bredli. Even if you feed them separately, it really is only a matter of time before one mistakes the other for something edible (same goes for all Morelia IMO).

Nice setup you have there! I am just thinking I am going to hold them in the same enclosure for a few months. I housed a pair of GTP's for about 6 months, and had no problem. Only once did i see them in the same area. One loved one side of the enclosure, the other stayed in the opposite side. I am planning on making myself a nice little rack, but it will be a few weeks before I have the space to work to build. My parents are going out of town for the next 3 weeks, so I have to patiently wait a bit.
