As far as I'm aware bhps take longer to mature than other pythons and sexual maturity is around 4 or 5 years, even though they grow quite fast.

About 7ft and 4 kg is what I was told when I asked. I saw my 6ft male mating with my 6ft female this season but doesn't look like babies this year. I'd be trying next season if you have any at the 6ft size now.

Someone mentioned a person they knew who had a 14 month male BHP that had mated with an older female (powerfed bunnies by that stage if I remember correctly).

Tan I dissagree, my information might be wrong but I believe a male needs to be bigger than 117cm, and a female bigger than 119cm. The BHP grows very quickly, our 16 month old is that size already. It is my understanding that they grow and become able to reproduce at a young age. There close cousins the Womas can become able to breed at 18 months and an SVL of more than 111cm. I might be wrong, but where did you get your info from.

I know that Womas can breed from 18 months old, and the father of my youngest BHP was only 2 1/2yrs old. Some where on the net you can find info for breeding sizes and ages. A breeder friend of mine photo copied his list and gave it to me and that is where my info comes from.

I'm not sure where I read that info but I did read it somewhere when researching before I bought my BHPs, but whitey, don't quote me cause you can't believe everything you read. What I read may well have been referring to breeding in the wild. Trueblue will be able to give you a definate answer, where is he when you need him?? Rob???

The BHP size can be difficult because QLD form gets to 3m in length and hence 7ft being a good breeding size. NTs and WAs are smaller overall (correct me if I am mistaken) and can be bred at a smaller size.

womas are a smaller snake and therfor reach maturity and full length sooner. BHP need to be larger then 4 ft to breed! i now of people that have breed them at 2.5 years and had eggs at 3 but i reckon 3.5 with eggs at 4 is the way to go with bhp's. it all depends on the health and husbandary of the individual snakes, 4-5 years is a good age and would probably be healthier for the snake.
