Someone mentioned a person they knew who had a 14 month male BHP that had mated with an older female (powerfed bunnies by that stage if I remember correctly). |

The BHP grows very quickly, our 16 month old is that size already. It is my understanding that they grow and become able to reproduce at a young age. There close cousins the Womas can become able to breed at 18 months and an SVL of more than 111cm. I might be wrong, but where did you get your info from.

Some where on the net you can find info for breeding sizes and ages. A breeder friend of mine photo copied his list and gave it to me and that is where my info comes from.

What I read may well have been referring to breeding in the wild. Trueblue will be able to give you a definate answer, where is he when you need him?? Rob???

BHP need to be larger then 4 ft to breed! i now of people that have breed them at 2.5 years and had eggs at 3 but i reckon 3.5 with eggs at 4 is the way to go with bhp's. it all depends on the health and husbandary of the individual snakes, 4-5 years is a good age and would probably be healthier for the snake. |
