I usaully start warming bout late sept. early Oct
When do I introduce male
Or am I starting too early
Any help Or pointers great help
Ive heard alot veriation not sure wats going to work for me

|  | Regular Member | | | | | Id sat you were starting a bit late. Coastals I normally start mating Last week of july -frist week of august and diamonds right about now, to the first week of sept. Just keep intoducing and seperating for the next 2-3 months. Good luck.

|  | Regular Member | | | | | Ive seen male carpets combating like crazy in the wild in the middle of august. In captivity it can be done alot earlier than that. Hell I know people down south that have coastals lay in sept.

i've had my male coastals in with my females since the middle of june, i left them in for about a week and then out for about 3 days and have been doing this since june, i have already seen 2 of my 3 pairs mating and think the 3rd pair could already be gravid, but only time will tell, i agree with rock that you are leaving it a bit late as most coastals have finished be mid september,
in my opinion you can never start to early as when they are ready they will mate, but it is possible to miss the best mating time if you start to late,
but i'm sure others will think differently, my opinion is it's better to be to early then being to late,
