Brown Tree Snakes

Ok the GTS thread was great, so hands up if you have one of these guys>? I was never really a fan of the colourbrids but today changed my mind. Got the chance to do some photographing of this guy, absolutely gorgeous.

Those eyes are simply stunning and quite the personalities. Yet more debt coming my way..

and i got bitten by a big male once and i got that strange numb feeling right up my left arm
for about half hour then it was fine.

Taronga bred some years ago, and I remember handling the hatchies - they'd put their head up against the side of your hand, think about it, then slowly open their mouth as far as they could and bite. They weren't able to break the skin, and it just seemed so cute!

arent they rear fanged elapids?? alot harder for them to "penetrate"... /\ Thats how my spotted pythons eat..., my childrens python goes for the strike

i have to hold the prey over the face of the snake untill it sees it and smells it for a minute or 2... can make for a long dinner time
