I think you might have been measuring them with an elastic ruler

Those granite ones look crossed with a spotted.... Are the spurmese or burmotted?

I think I'd like to order spurmese - at least they're half local!

Well there were 15 people there to witness it ( 8 to hold her down ) & i havent included the TV crew that were there filming it, the 2 retics & 3 anna's that are in the enclosure are taken out every year to be weighed & measured.

Boa is correct to some extent, large snakes are very hard to measure accurately, so even though the longest length we recorded was 27ft, ( bearing in mind she would have been extending her muscles to pull away from the people trying to hold her) i wouldnt say that was her 100% true length.

Where's the 46fter story boa ?

I know the famous Cassius at Knaresborough Zoo was the largest ever in the UK at 27 feet I hadn't heard of a recent animal approaching that size. Just pulling your leg, you know me

There are people in various states that have permits to legally keep exotics and there are 100's more who don't.
That is a beautiful Burmese in that photo Colin.

one of the great things about the herp comunity in aus is that the proliferation of native reptiles in private collections has help secure alot of species from becoming rare or extinct . this has been helped by having strict control over exotics , that my five cents worth. any way that burm is awesome.
