You should always wash your hands between handling diff. animals

Yes, it would smell the other snake on you they have a very good sense of smell, but this wouldn't normally be a problem (except maybe with males in breeding season).
I wash my hands between handling most of my animals (some exceptions) to prevent cross-contamination, especially for new animals in quarantine (which I try to handle last or on a different day).

At least they are herp related threads. (The 900sec function should kick in soon)

Sorry i didnt answer your question,,,
I personally do not wash my hands and often get bitten because i smell like rodent lol, my snakes are probably used to it and maybe helps them eat as they know its coming by the smell, many people say wash between snakes ect but they are pets and I just dont do it maybe im slack but so far no problems other than the odd tag .

You may not get any immediate problems from it, or any at all but its still not worth the risk in my opinion.
What happens IF (no, I'm not saying YOU will but...) you're unlucky enough to buy a python with mites, worms or even OPMV? Just because you couldn't be bothered quarantining or washing your hands your whole collection will be infected instead of just the new one.
