Cape York Carpet Python

Ok, my first thread if you dont include my intro one.

I have a few questions regarding my CY. I have read lots of info from books and internet but get different info all the time so would like to here from you guys out there. Would especially like to here from other CY owners but all replies from all Python owners would be greatfull.

1. What is the correct temp? My cool end is 25oC warm end is 31oc +- 2oC. She has a rock to hide under at both ends of the enclosure.
2. I have had her a week and have handled her on 5 of those days. Each time is usually 20-30mins. Is this too much?
Can it be more or should it be less? Time and number of days.
50% of the time she can be nippy whilst trying to get her out of the enclosure but once out she is as good as gold. Do they act like this all the time or do they get less nippy whilst trying to get them out?
3. Tonight whislt handling her I noticed a few dry patches on her. Is this because she is getting close to Sloughing? I sprayed the enclosure with water just incase. Should I stop handling her untill after she sloughs?
4. I was going to ask about how often they poo but she did that last night whilst my daughter was holing her

So thats about all for now, looking forward to reading replies,

Brett and Gucci(CY)

forgot to mention that her last Slough was on 26/1/07.
How often do they slough?

how old is it? If it is a hatchy might want to cut back hanling it till it has a few feeds. It should grow out of the nippiness but need more info to help you. Temps are about right I would say. If you can post pics of the dry areas and snake this might help.

I think she is 14 months old I will ring the seller 2moro and double check. I have the day off 2morro so I will take some pics of her. The dry patches are hardly visable now, I increased the humidity slightly so maybe that helped.

dragon170,

she is going really good at the moment. I had her out tonight, no nipping at all and no sign of any dry patches. Feeding her tonight just thawing out a rabbit, yum,yum.......
I measured her also, she if 110 cms, is this about right for 14month old snake?
