i have used Marine carpet in my DP enclosure for a few years now and had no problems, probably recommend having a couple of pieces so that when you need to clean one, you can just slip the other one in there.

Looks good, insulates well,

D

How would it handle being in an enclosure with a heat mat under it? Would it melt or is it heat resistant?

I use it in all my cages and find it fab!! I have used a heat mat under it for a short amount of time (during cage renovations) but not for a long period, I don't use heat mats in my cages at all.

I had a heat mat uynder it for a while in the winter, it doesnt damage it or anything. however, though it never happened i was always concious of my snakey getting under the carpet to get on top of the heat mat, never happened but still.

im getting 2m x 1m so ill def end up with a couple of pieces, ill use it for a beardy enclosure too.
like the idea of it being easy to clean and the snake cant eat it (using dr harrys litter)

sneaky bugger just went up my shirt, python that is, not dr harry

how do you clean the carpet, mild detergent ok?

I usually take it out to the clothes line, well actually the wife does, hang it up and spray it off,

I also have some vivarium cleaner and use it

Just give it a good clean before putting it in your enclosure, A lot of products retain some traces of chemicals from the manufacturing process.
