Smile Colour Pattern Changes

Hey all,

As a first time owner i have a question. My diamond is just over a year old and about two months ago had nice colour and clear markings around the head area. His markings looked a nice yellow colour. He has just shed and his markings have gone dull and almost disappeared from around his head and neck. Do pythons go through colour changes like this or am i destined to have a dull python???
Love to hear what yall think. ta nick

Mine started to colour up nicely and out of the blue it looks like someone has coloured his little patterns in with a black texta! By the way dragon tail, that a nice looking snake.

I have found with some animals that they go through what I call the "Ugly Duckling" phase. They seem to do this for 1 to 2 sheds then after their next shed they are superb.

My advice: Don't give up on them just yet mate.

well everytime my coastal female sheds she goes pretty dull but leave it a few weeks and her colours back to normal I think its just the look of the brand new skin and just needs alittle time to get back to normal. but with my BHP's when they shed they have the most stuning fresh colours and there just under a year old. I don't know If I helped ya
