Just wondering if I should cool down a newly acquired adult male over winter if I don't plan on breeding him?
If so, my room hits a maximum low of 15 degrees at night in winter. Should I just turn the night time heating off? If so, when should I turn it off and what month should I turn it back on? Also, should feeding be cut back to 10days whilst night time heating is off?

You may find that he will go off feeding even though his heat is on so you are better off cooling him to slow his metabolism so he doesn't lose too much weight during winter. Just give him a few hours during the day with heat & light then let him go without for the rest of the day/night.

Gradually shorten the days as you cool and then gradully increase them as you begin to warm them up, around spring...

thanks Ether.. nice snake by the way, he is a bit flighty but hasn't bitten.... yet
I'll let him settle in for a week before I try to handle him again.
Thanks for the advice.
