What's your opinion?
Oh, I probably should mention, I have a Port Diamond and a pair of stimsons, incase its different for different species. I am hoping to have some baby OPALS this year
cheers

In some areas it may be Ok to turn heat of altogether overnight, but it is not a healthy practice if your enclosure would get down below 5degC constant at night (which is quite common in garages in Canberra and parts of Victoria).
A bit of commensense and what waruikazi said (bom research will help guide you). I prefer to use the gradual cooling method as if it were changing seaons. |

| | | | since i am not planning to breed any of my snakes this season i leave it up to my snakes to decided whether or not they want to hibernate. most of them have slowed down alot of the last 2-3 weeks. i havnt changed any of the heating at all yet and probably wont for a little while. |

Especially if they have 10-15 layers of paper to go under as this will help hold body temps but let the snake feel the cool temps. This only needs to be done for 2-4 weeks. So yes it is a healthy practice.
So even in canberra, hot days cold nights. simple. | |
