Darwin Carpets

Hi guys, Just a quick one.

I have an opportunity to get a pair of Darwin Carpets, I just wanted to know are they generally an aggressive snake. I'm in experienced and the last thing I want is to have a snake or snakes that are very aggressive. The Darwins will be Hatchies.

Thanks guys

Adrian

darwins are a great snake, they are a under rated python in australian collections. They are good looking animals that are fine to handle as adults, nice colours and are cheap,

The max i have seen hatchys for is 250 each with most being around the 150 - 200 mark.

go for it mate.

they have got a reputation for being snappy but like most snakes will settle down in time.i've got some young ones that will have a go at anything but they should settle down.

Hi Adrian,

Congrats They are a nice snake to keep, they can be bitey that's true as that's just their nature, just spend time with them and take them out and handle them 3 times a week, not after feeding though (you can use a small hook) since you are getting hatchies you should be able to get them use to you with not much drama Good luck and Enjoy!

They are like all pythons, some are good handlers and some are snappy. I have a 7t Male Darwin that my kids can handle. They are one of the best looking pythons in my opinion.

They have been very "underrated", but i think they are quicky becoming the flavour of the month, and i think the new Darwin Morphs will futher high light them, even normal wild types
