Darwin Garden Snakes

Last night my wife spotted what she though was a snake which was jet-black with a white line running down its back. Could some shed some light on the this, is it a local Darwin python or a snake or even a lizard?

Sounds like a White Striped Black Snake to me, you were lucky to see it, they're quite rare.

Thanks for the info.
Is there any good web sites to look at images and find out more info on the above ?
