I let everyone believe my BHP is venemous. Stops those annoying teens trying to pick it up, less stress for both me and the snake.

People see the bold colors and the black head and for some reason reckon he's got to be venomous! It does help me to appear more tough in the eyes of my peers when they think I free handle vens!
888, thanks for the post! Pity it's another example of the media putting our beloved reptiles in danger through the use of propaganda. No, propaganda has to be intentional, news reports like that are simply the product of idiots.

I hope the people that get asked if their Aspidites are venomous you tell it to them straight, no bs.
Misinformation can only make things worse, people are a lot less likely to kill a snake if they know it isn't venomous.

Misinformation can only make things worse, people are a lot less likely to kill a snake if they know it isn't venomous. | I disagree, the young lads (15-20yo) that visit me, i let them think its venomous and i also have told them all it illegal to kill a snake and to get a professional in to remove it.
If they knew a snake wasnt venomous, I would assume that they would try to catch a wild one and keep it as a unlicenced pet. So id rather have them think that BHPs are venomous and to leave them alone rather than catching it.
If they specifically ask me i tell them 'no' though, i cant lie....
