Defrosting rats

wen ur defrostin rats is it ok to put the rat in zip lock bag n then pour hot water over it and let it sit 4 bit until it defrosted? i usaully just out them out side in a zip lock bag 4 a couple hours....any1 use these methods i wuld like to noe more bout hot water 1 n does any1 else do other things?

i defrost rats by leaving them out over night in zip lock bags and then get bucket of hot water and put them into the bucket of water for abt 5 min till there walm and feed straight away.

I use warm water, not hot, and dont worry about the bags. Feed em wet works fine for me.

i but if u just cleaned the cage new papper ect u dont want it all wet do u
and i use hot tap water not boiling just thought i might clear that up b4 some one asks y i cook the rats for the snake

do urs eva like get relle weak skin(the rats)? cos 1 of my snakes is eatin right now (1 that hasnt eatin 4 a while) and it tryin to eat the rat backwards n the guts are cumin out ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, i only put water on it 4 the first time eva cos it wasnt eatin so i thought it might like it to b warm, cos rats normally r!

lol yeh mine was from the keetle but it wasnt on 4 lil just from b4 use it was warm but i left it in there 4 like 15mins

I just put my over the lights on top of my cage on a pice of paper. From the heat it defrost in about 15mins.

a tub with hot water from tap with rat in it for bout 20mins works for me rlle good

I use a zip-lock bag in slightly hot water too, takes about 20 mins at the most. I've had a couple "explode" too aussiesnakelover, its very messy, so I try to keep them dry.

Yeah they ate them, 2 rats at the same time, 2 different snakes, the bag had a leak. It just takes them a bit longer to get all the intestines in!

mine didnt eat it i took it out just den, i am aloud to post pics? bcoz they is pretty disgustin

Thaw in fridge overnight(or however long it takes), like you do with human food. Immerse in warm water prior to feeding. Ziplock bag is ok.
Most of mine accept room temp rats.
