Aussiesnakelover, as someone suggested put it in the microwave, about 10 mins will be fine and that way the guts wont come out when u feed it to your snake. Try it and let us know how it went, i always do it that way, it works really really well.

We have had exploding rat guts in our enclosure from a hard hitting snake because of microwave defrosting. We thaw on top of our enclosures over the hot spot it take three or four hours but the rat skin holds up alot better.

thx simple, ill prob just leave it out while im at skool like i usually do forgot 2day, but i might wait till weekend till i feed again, i might give it a tiny bit of hot water cos main reason i did it that way is cos it wasnt eatin so i thought i might heat it up a bit

I use a icecream container with warm tap water no bag and leave it for a few hours then
get the excess water of with a papertowl.
Dont use hot water for rats/mice with no fur as the guts will fallout and limbs fall off.
If you use boiling water some times the insides are still frozen.

hot water straight from the tap, anything bigger than a fuzzy gets a new lot of water after 10 mins, another lot 10 mins after that dep on size till im sure its thourlly defrosted. fed wet n steaming.
I wont laugh at folks methods, I used to do all that BS'ing about drying it off, blowdrying it, giving it a manicure prior to feeding
I found a hungrysnake dont give a shot!

the microwave isn't a good idea, because sometime it can super-heat parts of the rodent, and burn your snake.
There is actually a phenomenon with food and drinks like coffee, if you dont stir it, little pockets heat to way above 100 degrees C, then when you take it out and stir it, it 'pops' and super-heated liqiud can explode into your face. So even if it is a tiny little space, I wouldn't want my snake eating that.
Moral of the story, stir your food or drink periodically, and defrost your rodents in a natural way! (ie. room temp/warm water)

If I microwave a rat at home fro 10 min it would combust.
Yes you can post a disgusting bad rat pic but put a warning in the subject heading.
Something like Warning, GROSS, not for squeamish.
