Hi,
sorry to do this to everyone, I know somewhere in the threads this was mentioned before but I can't find it.....anyway can someone tell me their methods of getting the indentations out of newish eggs. I have a coupleof eggs at the top of the clutch that still have fairly small indentations on them. The mix was 50/50 verm/water and all are loking good, except 2 are ever slightly dented on top. I dont want to ad too much water to the mix, as there is already a little condensation on the side of the container (none on roof). what are your thoughts?

I have heard of people using a damp cloth or papaer towel and laying that over the top of them until they puff back out again. I'm not an expert but i don't think it is too bag of an issue for them to dent a little bit.

small indentations wont hurt them, but you can put some water in the dents and the egg will obsorb the water with out a problem.

If they are as you say small, then there is nothing to worry about.
ive never heard of anyone placing a damp clothe over the eggs but you can put water in the dents.
hope that helped

As long as the humidity is right, then I would leave it alone, adding excess water could cause the other eggs in the clutch to sweat, sometimes you have to break a few eggs to make an omelette, Or sacrifice a portion of a clumped clutch.

I've had whole clutches that had small indents and they all hatched just fine. Sometimes it just happens.

here is a pic.........I am a bit concerned about the amount of condensation on the sides of container. I measured out an exact 50/50 mix by weight, but what do you lot think?
there isno condensation on roof, just the sides. I have 2 small holes in container for air.

60% vermiculite, 40% water is a much better ratio.

It's easier to add water than take it away. It does look like a lot of condensation. I would wipe it away for a few days to help remove some water.

I have wiped away the excess water and added a bit of dry vermiculite, will keep close eye on them and wipe away excess daily
