Guys,
We have a 4 month old DP that's been with us for three weeks. She has been a great handler and feeder but has become snappy and shy in the last week. We have noticed her eyes going cloudy and assume she is about to shed. Any hints on how to get her out of her enclosure in order to feed? Or is she best left alone with the mouse put in her enlosure. We have been getting her out to feed her in a feeding bin so she doesn't associate fingers in her cage with food. Any hints on getting her out without risking a bite and injury to her.

Don't feed her until after she has shed.

Okay. Her eyes are only very slightly cloudy - not like the pics I've seen of snakes just about to shed. How long should it take for her to finish shedding??
She has only shed once - is that normal??

Yes one shed, coming up to the second, is ok for a 4 month old snake. During this time she feels very vulnerable so should be left alone. It should only be a few days before she sheds, maybe a bit longer. Once she begins to peel the old skin off it should only take 30 mins or so to complete.

Cheers mate. We're taking your advice and closing the enclosure door.
Thanks again.
