dreamworld

i have been there a few times over the last few years, and i must admit i love some of their displays. i reckon they have done a great job on the themes of the enclosures. maybe the snakes aren't the best colour examples available as has been mentioned but i have yet to see one that has looked unhealthy.

as for them all being fat, isn't there a chance that they had only fed them the evening before you viewed them, they have to get fed at some stage. considering dreamworld is a themepark i think they have done a bl**dy good job of creating that wildlife section, and it is only growing an improving as the years go by.

anyway, i see no reason to label it a disgrace due to its reptiles, but i guess everyone is entitled to their opinions!

I'd be happy to take any of those specimens if they decided they no longer wanted them.

They all look good to me. If all Jungles and Stimsons looked like those i'd actually consider keeping them. I'd love to have any of those specimens in my collection.

Sorry extremely poor tile and description, was in a rush and didn't read properly. I'm mainy referring to a couple of pythons species that looked a lot fatter than I've ever seen them and got the impression they're that way for tourist WOW factor. I agree designer colors aren't appropriate but calling it Australian Reptile Experience tells me they're wanting to "showing off" our reptiles (which is great) to WOW the tourists but maybe a nicer color representation for some species than what's on display. That Jungle looks more like the bottom of the color spectrum so why not get something in the middle to represent the species and in an enclosure that closer represents it's natural habitat rather than dry bushland (unless our rainforests up North really are fancy named bushland) I've never been there. I never mentioned dirty or poor kept reptiles. I love the veriety of our reptiles Aus has and I'm just passionate that if we're going to show them off in that particular type of a tourist destination then lets show them off.

Just for the record I did love 95% of the wildlife displays including a lot of the reptiles.

choco u dont work at one of those dodgey pet shops with animals that look like carcasses do ya,,sure theres a couple of solid looking snakes, and there not the brightest of there species but they dont look drab and dirty to me,i think they display better than color forms anyhow,as they look more natural then say one of the bred for certain traits type,i havnt been to dream world for 17 years, all they had back then was 2 pits ,1 housed eastern beardeds and eastern waterys, another housed stumpys,i didnt realise they had expanded there reptiles so much, spewin i didnt go there last time i was in qld,its rare to see jungle carpets in the wild like the black and golds u see in captivity

id say those snakes look very healthy and much better than most pet shop snakes ( no offence to the pet-shop owners! I have never been in a pet-shop with snakes for sale its just that word goes around sayin that most petshops have bad looking snakes and even worse enclosures) and yes id say that the childrens is maybe to fat but rather too fat than too thin. At least they are looking after their animals unlike some places (that i wont mention).
