He has been keeping snakes for 25 years so you would assume he knows what he is talking about.
But from everything i've read it is essential to keep them healthy. I want to know what others are using with there reptiles. Which disinfectant does the job that wont harm my snake? |

Some time ago a study found that hospital staff disinfected their hands as effectively with household soap as with the most expensive proprietary disinfectant, provided the washing process was thorough. Prior to that everyone thought the fanciest most expensive pink fluid had to be the best.
I would be interested if anyone has looked at whether F10 reduces microbial problems in reptiles, or whether it just makes keepers feel better. This is just a question from a relative newby.

i'd personally rarther use f10 because as mrbredli said, its 100% safe.
im already paranoid enough about heating, enclousures being closed properly and everything else, would rarther not add to the list with using products and thinking, what if?
just imo!

| | | G'day all,
Just a comment on this topic as llasher has mentioned it - cleaning does indeed do a great job of getting rid of most of the germs, but the catch is that if you are unfortunate enough to have some nasty pathogen hanging around, then cleaning alone will not get rid of it totally. Even if you clean really well and get rid of 99% of it, that remaining 1% is all that's needed to infect your collection. Hence using a decent disinfectant to kill these potential nasties after a thorough cleaning is the best option.
On F10 - it's highly effective but still safe for reptiles - very few (if any) others can claim the same.
As always, please feel free to email us directly for any F10 related queries...
