Hey guys, thinking of getting me a carpet of some sort, but not sure if they need UV... i have one either way just not sure of what would make them happiest |

i dont use uv lights, neither does anyone i know personally, unless its for beardies or something that needs it.
But i will say, they enjoy a sunbake now and then..... I just take mine outside when i handle them....

| I'll second that. Can I add however that UV lights almost always produce both UVA and UVB and whilst I don't use them personally for any pythons, UVA works as an appetite stimulant so certainly wouldn't hurt to use it if you have one available.

I have never used UV lights for any of my pythons. I personally think that they are a waste of money. I take my snakes outside once a week for about 30mins each. They will get more Uv from natural sunlight then any other source.

Most people don't use them, I do however and have them on timers so they can on for a few hours a day. The reason I do is that even though 'studies' say snakes in captivity don't need UVA & UVB, I would rather think nature knows best.
