Does your snake like you?

How can you tell if your snake likes you?

Does it show any signs of affection toward you if it does?
Like does it slide up to you and wrap it self around you and give you a big squeeze?..
Does it give you a fork tonguey when it seees you?

And what sort of quirky personallities does your snake have?

Just curious

LMAO Australis,,,,,

I don't think snakes really like or dislike , though I once had a baby rat snake try to eat me, little sucker tried to swallow my little finger, so at least one thought I tasted good which is about as close to liking me as they likely get. Randy

It's very easy to anthropomorphize when talking about this , but I do think my Bredli Boy likes hanging-out around my arm .

I don't think we can really 'humanise' snakes with our emotions. In another thread someone was talking about their snake 'trusting' them. I don't think trust is a part of the snakes emotional repertoire. It's eat or be eaten hehe, that pretty much sums up my snakes behaviour

i think my bredli loves me, as soon as i get home he moves down from his basking area and wants to come out.

so i open his tank and let him out and he eventually makes his way over to me and sits on my lap for 20 mins or so (probably to get warm but i'm flattered he'd rather get warm on me that under his light. )

another cute quirk is if he hasnt had a shower for a while he'll go into the bathroom and curl up in the shower and wait.

and he loves a rub on the back of his head/neck, he tilts his head and pushes into the rub like the dragons do!!

australis is on the right track.
it's like asking if your couch likes you. sometime it will be all nice and squishy other times hard. we dont no the emotions of a couch and we dont no the emotions of a snake so to claim it likes you is inaccurate.
: )

maybe and just maybe i think that because we excrete differant smells and being that snakes have an acute sense of smell if your relaxed around your pet it may seem to be liking you then if your a nervous type of person it may sense that too, so act accordingly to your actions ...if that makes sense to anyone lol...... i just know when i see some people hold snakes (non ven of course) they are like relaxed and the snake seems at ease then on the other hand watching nervous people the snake acts differently just my observation could be a scientific load of crap .................but my opinion RBB (i am still lol at spooning )

I'm with redbellybite on this one, he puts forward a believable point. When I got my first snake not long ago (R.I.P) i was pretty nervous and he seemed jittery and tried to bite me a few times. But I got pretty relaxed with him and he seemed to be calmer, but maybe it was just an age thing....
