Hi,i found a good read in Department of Sustainability and Environment (put that in search)and when you get the page type diamond python in the quick search box up top left.You get the management strategy report 104 for the dse and it is quite interesting.They will find that the diamond pythons have quite different patterns of movement and other behaviour than those studied by slip and shine north of sydney.Also there is a list of other reports on reptiles birds and mammals. cheers colin |

illegal collection by reptile fanciers and traders;
| They always have to stick the boot in and blame somebody. Out of interest, how mant Victorian diamond lines actually exist to justify that we have apparently raped them out of existence

Love the pure vic diamonds, they have to be some of the nicest diamonds Ive seen over the years.
Being the most southerly python in oz seems weird, I dont think they have heard of the carpet spp on off shore south oz Island(s). Plus correct me if Im wrong but I thought the Boelens python from the high lands of New Guinea was the python that had been found at the highest altitudes. Hence the difficulty in keeping them in captivity.

Yeh your write geckodan they havent been plundered and i like the bit where they say they will not inform public of where abouts The second reference there is R Cook 94 and that was on south coast in country quite similar to vic ones and one area is now a housing estate and another principle breeding area is going under the knife what a bummer.Yes your right about those island populations of carpets such as those on kangaroo and st francis and the boelens is at very high altitude for sure. | | |
