is it normal for a snake thats due to shed to bask continuosly for days?
Loki (15 month old bredli) is @ the milky stage and had basked non stop for 6 days (since his last feed, the lump was totally gone after 2 days), and hasnt hassled me to let him out the anti social little butt. I got a bit freaked out last night when i rubbed his head and neck or 5 mins and he didnt respond, so i poked him a bit and he moved. I took him out and he was really warm, but moved fine, not floppy or anything, i let him cruise around the lounge room fro a while and he was really active, listened to him breathe and couldnt hear anything, felt him for lumps, gave him a bath and let him get back to basking.
He was still basking this morning when i got up and only moved his head forward a bit so i could give him a better neck rub,...
i dont have my digi therm @ teh moment (lent it to a friend), but his basking spot is on the warmer side, def not to cool anyway,..
i thought they were meant to hide when they got milky,...is he being normal or weird?

I wouldn't say it is totally abnormal behaviour. With the weird temps in Sydney at present I not surprised. My bredls have been basking a lot of late as well. I put it down to the fact that we are now getting down to cooler temps at night so they are getting what they can whilst the basking globes are on.
Do you offer heat 24/7 or just day time? I only offer daytime, hence my reasoning.

oh, phew!
thats y i poked Loki last night, i had a horrible feeling he was dead! i took him out cos i figured he must @ least be sick, he normally hassles me to take him out every night. i miss that, cant wait till hes shed.
i just never noticed that much basking with previous sheds, maybe cos its gotten pretty cold lately,..!
thanks!

My Bredli usually hides away for a week prior to shedding, doesnt come out at all. But every snake is soo different, thats what makes them so interesting.
