I have just got a new coastal python, she's nearly 4 months old, and was wondering when i could take her out of her click-clack and into her bigger enclosure?
she seems to spend all night scanning the perimeter for an escape route?
Cheers, Dan.

How big is she and is it a genuine click-clack? If not genuine what size is it?

how big is her enclosure your going to upgrade her to?
most people keep them in click clacks cause there cheap and just till there about a year old but I've always had all mine from hatchies up till now all in enclosures, looks better and I think if your going to spend the monie to get the snake you should treat them to the most realistic enclosure to the wild. but thats my own oppinion though. if you feel you'll still be able to see her in the enclosure then go for it and put her in there.

I usually switch mine over at around a year , although most of them could easily stay in a 20 ltr click-clack for another 6 months at least . I think it's a 'feel thing' , If the snake seems to settle into a big enclosure quite quickly & starts to 'own' the space , leave it there.
If it seems jittery & stays in one little spot all the time , maybe it could use the click-clack a little longer . If you do change it over , give it a few snug hides around the enclosure.

Put my little coastal hatchie in her big enclosure after a week, just made sure there was plenty of hides and basking areas for her and furniture to make it cosy and she took it over straight away.
Put her in two days before feed day and let her settle for those two days then fed her and she ate no probs indicating she wasn't stressed put her back in after feed and she found her favourite spot. now ,after a week, she loves her enclosure and streches towards it when I go to put her back in after handeling.

haha cool good to hear as iv done exactly the same, just leaving her for a few days, she was due for a feed on friday night but she wouldnt eat and was still looking pretty upset in her click clack so i put her in her big enclosure, still spends a bit off time against the glass but she should get used to it, temps adn everything is good, might put some more climbing stuff in, shes got plenty of snugg little hides, she even dug one under the water dish.
Thanks for that makes me feel better!
