IF YOU THINK THERES 10 MILLION PARASITES AND BACTERIA WAITING TO JUMP ONTO YOUR SNAKE THEN GO FOR IT , WHY NOT RINSE ALL YOUR RATS IN BLEACH FIRST TOO ? JUST INCASE.

or use another method to steralize.

Most People On Here Have Posted Pics Of Their Snakes On The Lawn Or In The Garden, steralized I Think Not. 100 Degrees For 2 Or 3 Minutes Will Be As Useful As A Damp Sponge.

I have never sterilised my branches and my snakes seem to love them that way.
However, if people want to sterilise then go for it I say.
I personally will continue using my unsterilised branches.
Oh... and I will also keep using my unsterilised lawn too...

First_time_owner, people may say there's no need to Sterolize, but to be on the safe side, rather then regreting it, use F10 or put it in the oven for a few minutes.

For what its worth, we bought our bredli a couple of months ago. We got a nice dead stick from the bush and put it in the enclosure.
A month later.....mites!!!
The majority of members on here say the snake most likely had them while in the pettshop, because the mites can not live without a host in the bush.
The guy at the petshop says we would of got the mites off the stick. (of course he would say that)
So we eradicated the mites as good as we could (havnt seen any for a week now) and got a few more sticks. This time we stterilised them.
I filled my wheelie bin with cold water, added a very small amount of bleach and soaked them overnight.
No sign of mites yet.
Thats just my story, you use the info to draw whatever conclusion you feel is right. Personaly, im beleiveing a lot of members on here who seem very educated on snakes, and beleive the mites came from the petshop.

Sometimes when your not really sure your better to be safe than sorry. I would never put another stick in without sterilising it again, just to be on the safe side.
