Daniel,
The reason the snake probably doesn't eat and is "tame" is because it is stressed. A lot of people comment on how tame some wild snakes are, where in reality it is stressing itself to death.
Aggression (I prefer to refer to it as defensiveness) and feeding response are two totally seperate things. Plent of totally non-defensive snakes have strong feeding responses.

not the best topic to discuss,we dont want anymore attention drawn to snake keeping than there already is,
not alot of people get bitten by venomous snakes so why worry about it

yes but some topics get blown out of proportion and can be dammaging to the legislation
that allows us to keep these amazing creatures
does that make sense?
but as for keepers that get bitten the vast majority ive heard of from people i know who have been wacked have been either bitten through a bag, bitten while cleaning and feeding
only free handling incidents i can recall are exhibiters who have been bitten during a show.
If you have ever read john canns book "snakes alive" all old snake wranglers where bitten frequently and most would let tiger snakes bite them as they had built up a resistance to the effects
but almost all died eventually form the effects of snake bite
these where the days long before anti venom or even knowledge of the toxins in venom | | | |
